Friday Afternoon. September. I always thought it couldn’t last…
The shakedown of the digital music delivery services continues:
Rumours are (as at today) Yahoo Music is under review, Sony Connect will soon close. According to a note on their site, Virgin Digital will have shut down by end of October 2007.
The backlash against DRM (Digital Rights Managment – championed by the ubiquitous iTunes) continues as Radiohead snubs iTunes and sells full-album, unprotected MP3s:
- In August 2007 major label Universal also launched a DRM-less test of thousands of titles.
- Who would want to sign their music to a major…?
Better off being an independent artist, sell fewer songs – but keep more of the profit!!
